In the Central Highlands of Chiapas, more than 150 smallholder coffee growers independently cultivate, harvest, and process their coffee beans, which are then submitted to the cooperative for quality assessment and export. Each producer adheres to organic farming practices, ensuring that the cooperative maintains its USDA Organic certification. The majority of these farmers belong to the indigenous Mayan Tzeltal community and communicate primarily in the native Tzeltal language. In Tzeltal culture, the word "Kulaktik" symbolizes "vine," reflecting the interconnectedness and growth fostered within their community.
